Preserving their resting place
The history of Mt. Zion Cemetery spans over 175 years. Located in rural Caddo Parish, Louisiana, the land was believed to be used as a cemetery even before the first marked grave of 1845. In 1958 the land was officially donated and set aside as the primary resting place for a number of local families.
Organized in 1971, the Mt. Zion Cemetery Association was formed to administer and maintain the cemetery. Members meet annually to elect a board of directors and officers who are responsible for most decisions of the association.
